Rookie Saturday Night Live cast member Jenny Slate unintentionally made what will most likely be an everlasting impression during her debut sketch appearance (no less) last Saturday, on the show’s season opener.
It happened during a sketch entitled “Biker Chick Chat,” in which the ladies featured parody the stereotypical foul-mouthed language of “biker babes.” Jenny played “Dawn,” the host of the fictional cable access talk show with Kristen Wiig as her mom’s best friend and co-host “Beth.” The 27-year-old Miss Slate made a gaff by letting the word “fuckin” slip out, rather than using the “replacement word,” “frickin.” (Since the FCC won’t allow the F-bomb to be said on network TV shows, the SNL writers simple replaced it with “frick/frickin.”)
In the above video of the sketch in its entirety, Jenny says “fuckin” instead of “frickin” and then puffs out her cheeks after realizing her blunder, at just a little past the one-minute mark. Seemingly unfazed, the ladies continued on with the sketch (and the “frick/frickins”). The show’s host for the evening’s episode, Megan Fox, soon joins in as guest “Donna.”
I don’t know if Biker Chick Chat is or was slated (no pun intended) to be a regular sketch, but I doubt it is/was destined to be the next Wayne’s World. No frickin’ way.
November 2018 Author’s Addendum: Jenny Slate was not fired right after this episode, she finished out the season. However, her contract was not renewed for a second season and she will go down in SNL history as a one-season wonder. If her infamous “F-bomb slip” wasn’t the main reason for her being let go from the show, I’d say it was still one of the reasons. At the very least; it sure didn’t help her argument for contract renewal. The full transcript of the Biker Chick Chat sketch (which was never frickin’ performed again) is now available at SNL Transcripts.

I notice she’s not on the show this season. Now I see why.
Just caught this one in your archives. I was pretty young at the time, but I remember this. As you said, even if this wasn’t THE reason her contract wasn’t reupped after her first season, it must have been ONE of the reasons. At least she didn’t fade away into obscurity. I mean, Jenny Slate is not exactly a household name, but her career has gone okay since SNL.
