I had been drawing for AC Comics for a while when my regular inker, Jeff Austin, helped me branch out. That first step was to draw for Main Enterprises.

Baker’s Log – A Quick Look: Orgy of the Dead (1965) NSFW

Saturday, October 28, 2017 Rock Baker 1

Orgy of the Dead was a bizarre cross between a horror movie and a nudie cutie (pre-porno skin flicks focused on naked girls). It plays like Halloween night in a strip club.

Baker’s Log – A Quick Look: House on Bare Mountain (1962) NSFW

Wednesday, October 18, 2017 Rock Baker 1

Saturday, October 7, 2017 Rock Baker 0

Baker’s Log – Sadie 6 Shot in “Bare Escape”

Tuesday, September 12, 2017 Rock Baker 1

“Bare Escape,” was scanned from Main Enterprises’ *PPFSZT! Color Annual No. 1, published in 2012. If you know what to look for, you can see that my pencils were still pretty rough.

A Slice of Cheesecake – Bettie Page

Saturday, September 9, 2017 Rock Baker 0

Bettie Page is probably the undisputed cheesecake queen. A very prolific magazine, figure and photo club model during the 1950s, seemingly millions of photos were taken of her in just about every situation imaginable.

My favorite image from this episode of Betsy the Bookwriter is the back cover (above right) of Main Enterprises PRESENTS No. 7. Enjoy the entire story featured here.

Baker’s Log – Josie and the Pussycats

Sunday, August 20, 2017 Rock Baker 1

Josie and the Pussycats was a comedy/adventure/espionage cartoon based on the Archie comic book of the same name. Cartoonist Dan DeCarlo was in Paris (just after the War?) where he met an adorable French girl named Josie.
