Airline Pilot Ky Williams on the TrailBlazers with Tamara McKayle NSFW

Another for the "Haven't I seen (a lot more of) her somewhere else before?" file™

Ky Williams

Toronto-based commercial airline pilot Ky Williams had begun a career in film and television before entering the White male-dominated field* of commercial aviation. She states, without getting too specific, that she did television hosting as a media personality, as well as acting in films, commercials, and even theater. A personal setback then caused her to take a break from that path and she found herself trying to decide what her next career move would be. After taking a job as a flight attendant, Ky soon fell in love with the aviation industry and decided to become a pilot. So, after two years as a flight attendant, Ky began her journey from the aisles to the cockpit.

Ky
Ky earned her wings and is currently a first officer for Porter Airlines, headquartered at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

Of course, there is a lot more involved to becoming a pilot than there is to becoming a flight attendant, but Ky possessed what it took and her story is an impressive one. Journalist Tamara McKayle conducted the above (linked to) interview with Ky last year for her Internet show The Trailblazers, which Ky certainly is. Listen to find out more about Ky, her background, her current life as an airline pilot for Porter Airlines, and her aspirations for her future in the airline industry. On social media, she goes by kymaurene on TikTok and Instagram.

If you think you have seen (perhaps a lot more of) Ky somewhere else before, but can’t place her, perhaps we can refresh your memory. If you have never seen Ky before, but wouldn’t mind seeing (a lot) more of her, you’re in for a treat. If you are sure you have seen (a lot more of) Ky somewhere else before, and know where, then you know what follows.

*We are not implying or signing on to any contention that Ky faced any unfair practices, barriers, or adversity while becoming a pilot. We are simply acknowledging that Ky is unique in her chosen field due to fact that the vast majority of commercial airline pilots are White men.
