CASANDRA REVEALS NEW SINGLE “HOURGLASS“
Following the release of her acclaimed six-track EP ISLA TRANQUILITA, Los Angeles-based artist CASANDRA returns with her new single, “HOURGLASS.” The track serves as a preview of her forthcoming ISLA TRANQUILITA album, arriving July 24. Expanding the original project into a 13-track collection, the LP further immerses listeners in the richly imagined world CASANDRA first introduced on the EP.

Translating to “little island of peace,” ISLA TRANQUILITA is a deeply personal tribute to CASANDRA’s late great-aunt Teresa, a Cuban émigré who served as a guiding source of comfort throughout her childhood in Miami. Whenever CASANDRA felt overwhelmed, Teresa would gently tell her, “tranquilita”—a simple but powerful reminder to find calm amid life’s chaos. Years later, CASANDRA transforms that enduring sentiment into music, creating a sanctuary of sound that honors her aunt’s memory while offering listeners a place of refuge of their own.

Thriving in duality, ISLA TRANQUILITA pairs vibrant, rhythm-driven production with intimate storytelling. Blending alt-pop, R&B, and electronic influences, the project unfolds like a cinematic escape, transporting listeners to a dreamlike paradise where joy, longing, grief, and healing coexist. Written in both English and Spanish, the songs draw from CASANDRA’s Cuban heritage to create a world that feels expansive, transportive, emotionally precise, and unmistakably her own.

On “HOURGLASS,” CASANDRA unveils a hidden lagoon within the ISLA TRANQUILITA universe. Through inquisitive lyrics, soft guitars, dreamy drums and lush synths, she tells a story of love and eternity. “HOURGLASS” captures the blissful serenity at the heart of the project while expanding its emotional depth.

CASANDRA is a Miami-born, Los Angeles-based artist whose work serves as both mirror and sanctuary, creating an intimate space where imagination, sensuality, healing, and freedom converge. Homeschooled for much of her childhood, she developed a deep connection to her inner world early on—a foundation that continues to shape her artistry.

Having released music since her teenage years, CASANDRA has spent nearly a decade developing a distinctive artistic voice rooted in emotional honesty and self-expression.
