Among the many roles Japanese-American actress Ally Maki has played on TV sitcoms, a couple of the more notable ones were actually Korean. She played North Korean spy Joyce Kim in a flashback episode of The Big Bang Theory, in which she was was sleeping with one of the main characters, only in order to obtain classified information on the rocket fuel he was working on.
More recently (and notably), was her performance on 2 Broke Girls as exotic dancer/hooker June “Sapphire” Kim, whom Max and Caroline (played by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs) hired to pose as their boss’ girlfriend. The above scene from the episode, in which the ladies propose the deal to June, implies that both Max and Caroline may have been thinking of having Sapphire becoming their girlfriend instead.
