Oollala Sisters (aka: Oh! Lala Sisters!, South Korea, 2002)
★★★★

Lee Mi-sook (the eldest and wisest one), Kim Won-hee (the tough one), Kim Min (the sexy one), and Kim Hyun-soo (the youngest and cutest one) play four sisters who are trying to save their family’s struggling nightclub, Club Lala, from being taken over by rival nightclub owner Go-man (Kim Bo-seong). When Go-man steals away Club La La’s star attraction, a bouncy siren named Yu-bang (Korean for “breast”), the sisters, unable to afford to hire a new singer, resort to going on stage themselves as the “Ooh La La Sisters” in hopes of saving their club from bankruptcy.

So, in a nutshell, that’s the story. Now about the girls. Each one fits her character fairly well. Lee Mi-sook, the oldest by several years, is a good looking lady, but doesn’t really exude the sexiness that other 30-something actresses Jin Hee-kyung or Shim Hye-jin, would have if either would have been cast in this role. Popular TV funny women Kim Won-hee is cute and comical, as would be expected. Kim Min is hot, even though her acting is pretty wooden, and Kim Hyun-soo (whom this reviewer has had the pleasure of meeting) is very cute without trying too hard or overdoing it. Also, great soundtrack to this one, even though not a single song on it is performed by any of the cast.
