Garden Party Massacre (2017)
★★★★★
Dawna Lee Heising keeps this comedy-horror from falling completely flat. (No pun intended.)

I suppose if you liked Shaun of the Dead, you’d like this one. It’s in the same vein. Most of the characters overplay their roles and I simply didn’t find them funny, save for a few lines here and there. The one character who’s most enjoyable here is the ditzy Melanie (played by Dawna Lee Heising). Too bad she didn’t have more screen time. I will say that if this one were remade with some tweaks, such as the humor “darkened-up” and sophisticated gore effects, this could very well be a cult classic.
