It would be a total spoiler if I were to write what I liked best about this movie. Originally entitled “Discursion,” this was co-written by the film’s star, Nicole Kruex, who also gives a good performance as Cassie Becker, a young woman in search of her husband and son in the aftermath of a chemical attack that has infected and “zombiefied” the Earth’s population. She’s joined by a boy she meets along her journey, who helps lead her to the truth. Those who like the gore, action, and drama the living/walking dead-type of films/shows deliver, will probably not like the way this film slowly progresses in comparison to those, but just wait until the end of this one. You may think you’ve “got it” after a telling scene in a supermarket during Cassie’s journey, but just wait until the end. If you like films that you want to watch a second time, so that you can spot the “clues” you missed during your first viewing, then this is one for you. It’s well-played. Also good cinematography and music throughout.
