David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive is essentially two films in one and each section of the film has its own girl-girl sex scene between the two stars; Naomi Watts and Laura Harring as Diane and Camilla, respectively.
The first section is a much more wide-eyed and optimistic version of a classic tale of Hollywood deceit. It’s artfully and sexily done, but still sort of staged and performed like a Penthouse Forum letter come to life. The second section is a much colder and cynical version of that exact same Hollywood story. Things take a turn when, during a sexual encounter, Camilla tells Diane they “shouldn’t do this anymore,” which causes Diane’s true colors to start showing.
