The TV show Bizarre Murders debuted in 2018 and features cases that are “inspired by” true stories. meaning the episodes are not reenactments of actual events, but rather loosely based on actual murders with names, places, and other case details changed and embellished upon for entertainment value. According to their synopsis at IMDb; “Bizarre Murders reveals a true and surprisingly strange crime story. These are not serial murderers evading the FBI, but Fargo-like capers with shocking twists and unusual characters.”
Here we have the 7th episode of the first season (S01E07) entitled “Bad Fortune” starring Hazel Lorico as “Miss Cici” a fortune teller who is brutally murdered by a woman for incorrectly predicting her future. Her face and hands are then covered in white paint for reasons that are explained at the end of the episode.
If you think you’ve seen Ms. Lorico somewhere else before, but can’t place her, perhaps we can help.
Here is Hazel Lorico, back in April of 2003 giving a “One on One” when she was with the on Toronto-based “show with nothing to hide,” Naked News. Hazel was a Naked News anchor, going under the pseudonym, “Gia Gomez,” from (according to Naked News‘ official website) “February to September of 2003, then rejoined in March, 2005, reporting on a variety of subjects.” If you have seen Gia before, but didn’t recognize Hazel as Gia, it must have been the clothing that threw you off.
