Shannon Mac – “I’d Rather Be Burned as a Witch”

Singer and actress Shannon McDonough, who now goes professionally by Shannon Mac, has been featured here on a few occasions in the past and we’re happy to feature her again, this time in the music video to her version of Eartha Kitt’s “I’d Rather Be Burned as a Witch.” An appropriate song for the Halloween season.

Written by Gerald Dolin and Betty Garrett in 1959, the song’s lyrics are written in the first person, as the lady tells of her special charms and how she uses them to draw men in with her spell-like powers.

Covering an Eartha Kitt song is a daunting task, as she’s a tough act to follow, but Shannon does an outstanding rendition, staying true to the original, while still adding her own personal flair. See and here more of Miss Mac at her Facebook fan page and she’s on Twitter.
