One of the most mammorable memorable deaths in the Friday the 13th franchise, for a pair of good reasons, has to be that of Tina in 1985’s Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. The actress playing Tina is Deborah Voorhees (credited in the film as “Debisue Voorhees” and yes, that’s her real surname).
According to Deborah’s IMDb page, she hasn’t done much in front of the camera since the 1980s, but they’ve she’s never been a candidate for the “Whatever Happened to..?” file. Possessing a BA in journalism, Deborah did a stint teaching high school English after her acting career. However, her teaching career was cut short, due to her aforementioned titillating (yes, pun intended, okay?) film appearance being discovered. (Details on that here.)
Even though her nude scene in Friday the 13th: A New Beginning came back to haunt her and cost her a teaching career (at least in public school), Deborah went on to become a successful writer, working for the Dallas Morning News and penning a novel (still unpublished, as of this writing). Her blog was seemingly abandoned in June of 2009, but in 2012, she wrote, directed, and appeared in her indie comedy Billy Shakespeare, which was produced by her own production company, Voorhees Film Production.
Not a bad screamer either, if that’s really her scream.
