Madeline Milden Reviews – Episode 1

David Cronenberg's Early Works

I suppose it’s difficult to say anything negative about someone whose works you admire, even though their earlier works were far from being up to the same standard as their later ones. In the above video, we have amateur film reviewer Madeline Milden struggling for the right words to describe the early works of director David Cronenberg, whom she is an avid fan of.

Madeline says this was a rare instance because she usually doesn’t mind “tearing into a movie.” However, she found it very daunting to say anything negative about David Cronenberg’s early works, even though those films could be considered by many reviewers as being far from polished. As for Madeline herself (who is really the subject of this article, and not anything David Cronenberg has ever made), she tells me her next review will be of Damien Leone’s 2016 evil clown feature, Terrifier and that she plans to put things together for a blog of her own. If she posts more reviews (of anything, it doesn’t matter what) and delivers them like the above, I’ll definitely subscribe. Part 2, which is basically just a continuation of Madeline’s search for the right words to describe Cronenberg’s early stuff in an unharsh manner, is below.
