Pin-Ups For Vets is a wonderful organization founded and run by an equally wonderful lady, whose main mission is to raise funds for hospitalized US Military veterans. Gina Elise, who’s a stunning pinup model herself, founded Pin-Ups For Vets in 2006. Says Gina;
The more I heard about the uphill battles of our Wounded Warriors, the more convinced I was of the need to produce a project that would bring in funds to support all of our hospitalized Veterans. My late Grandpa Lou served in the Army for four years during World War II. I wanted to do something to honor his name. I always loved the romance of those bygone eras, especially the 1940s, and I drew inspiration from the World War II pin-up girls, whose photos and paintings boosted morale for our soldiers fighting overseas.
In addition to producing their calendar since 2007 (the current 2017 one being their 11th edition), Gina and the other ladies tour US military hospitals and veterans homes throughout the US and so far, one overseas, which was Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. The ladies also pay visits to US military instillation to boost the moral of active duty Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines. Gina’s goal is to have Pin-Ups For Vets visit a VA or military hospital in every state in the US. Presently they have visited hospitals in 31 states, so that goal isn’t far off. Anyone interested in sponsoring an appearance, modeling for, or just saying thank you to Gina and the other lovely ladies of Pin-Ups For Vets, can contact her at gina@pinupsforvets.com.
