In honor of Friday the 13th, here’s Vera Sanchez (played by Catherine Parks) performing her last act; retrieving a wallet she dropped in the water in Friday the 13th Part 3 (in 3D). And for a trivia question; how many victims had the hockey-mask-wearing Jason claimed prior to Vera? Answer after the jump.
Well, if you counted all the victims from Parts 1 and 2 to try to come up with the correct death toll, you’re a Friday the 13th newbie. Every Friday the 13th aficionado knows that Jason didn’t begin his murderous rampage until Part 2. (His mom, Pamela Voorhees, was the killer in the original. Ask Casey Beck….oh, never mind.) If you knew that and started counting victims from the beginning of Part 2 ….well, you either aren’t as sharp on Friday the 13th films as you think you are or you just didn’t read my question carefully. The question was; “how many victims had the hockey-mask-wearing Jason claimed prior to Vera?” and Jason didn’t don the now-infamous hockey goalie’s mask until Part 3, after killing Shelly Finklestein (a male character) and taking it from him. Vera was the first victim Jason claimed right after making the now-iconic hockey mask a permanent part of his attire.
